P o q e t P C C l o c k F i x I n s t a l l a t i o n G u i d e Revision 1.0 January 5, 1996 As shipped, the Poqet PC "Classic" (Model PQ-0164) will not keep the system date and time when warm-booted (via the CTL-ALT-DEL key sequence). Furthermore, the Poqet Classic system clock will not advance correctly when the unit is left suspended for two days in a row. The drivers OS$CLK2.SYS and OS$KEYB.COM correct these problems. OS$KEYB.COM is only necessary for Poqet PC's using non-US keyboard drivers. These drivers were shipped with the Poqet PC Prime (Model PQ-0181) and work equally well on the Poqet Classic. INSTALLATION To install the "Clock Fix" files, perform the following steps: 1) Copy the file OS$CLK2.SYS to the RAM drive (drive D:) of your Poqet PC. 2) Add the following line to CONFIG.SYS: DEVICE=D:\OS$CLK2.SYS 3) Remove any lines that reference "OS$DT" in your AUTOEXEC.BAT (In the default AUTOEXEC.BAT, lines 5 and 10 execute "OS$DT") If you use a non-US keyboard driver, you will also need to perform the following steps: a) Copy the file OS$KEYB.COM to drive D: of your Poqet PC. b) Add the following line to AUTOEXEC.BAT. OS$KEYB This line should be added after the line that installs your foreign keyboard driver. 4) Reboot The Poqet PC by pressing CTL-ALT-DEL and then set the system date and time. Note that, since drive D: is semi-volatile, you will have to perform the above steps over again when you cold boot your Poqet PC. For this reason, you may want to copy the two driver files and your modified CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT to an SRAM card to make the restoration of drive D: easier.
