hello,

i just read your mail about the Poqet Lotus 123 for sale (sorry about the
delay, i was in Africa for the last three weeks). on the off chance it's still
available, i would be interested in buying this. have you sold it yet?

hey steve,

great, count me in!! :) do you accept payments other than paypal? (e.g.
money order?) if so, what are the details?

yes, i have to travel a lot for my job, and my little poqet is ideal for
getting stuff done on long (10+ hour) plane flights. i just love it when
people with their $3k+ Win98 laptops ask me lots of condescending questions
about my Poqet, and then have to shut down their machine an hour later because
their battery sputters dry. :)

I think you've covered the reasons I liked the Poqet, although I not longer own
one. I wish their was something comparable on the market today. Battery life
is a big issue.

I currently own an HP Omnibook 430 which is larger than the Poqet (2.5 lbs).
It runs Windows 3.1 and takes standard PCMCIA cards. I've got a 220mb flash
card in it, so I'm able to keep a complete office suite on it along with a C++
compiler and some games. Like the Poqet, it is "instant on". No boot up.
Simply hit the power switch and you are up and running. I get about 4 hours
per charge on the batteries, but you can also use Lithium AA batteries in a
pinch.

The first model in the series was the Omnibook 300. It was a 386 based machine
with Windows 3.1, Excel and Word built in. 8 hours per charge. But like the
Poqet, it was fussy about the types of PCMCIA cards -- and you couldn't adjust
the autoexec.bat and config.sys files since they were built in. Still, if all
you needed was Office stuff, this was a great machine like the Poqet (although
it wouldn't fit in your Poqet, ha!).
